ORIGIN: Province of Pavia
VINE VARIETY: Muller Thurgau
SOIL: Clayey, slimy with calcareous marl and gypsum, located around the 45° parallel north.
GRAPE CULTIVATION: Espalier
HARVESTING: By hand.
VINIFICATION: Grape soft pressing with pneumatic press. Fermentation with cultured yeasts at 16°C.
REFINING: In stainless steel vats, followed by a second natural fermentation in pressurized vats at 16°C temperature. During ageing the wine undergoes several analytical controls to assure its integrity.
BOTTLING: Cold sterile
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 12%vol
COLOUR: Straw-yellow with golden tinges.
NOSE: Intense and lingering, pleasantly fruity and aromatic, with notes of peach and grapefruit, yellow flowers like broom.
PALATE: Dry, fresh, lean. It has a pleasant acidulous hint which make the wine fresh and easy drinking.
INTERNATIONAL PAIRINGS: Gazpacho (Spain) – Kebab (Turkey)
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 10 – 12°C
CURIOSITY: The Muller-Thurgau is a crossing of Rhine Riesling and Madeleine Royale obtained by the Swiss enologist Hermann Muller in Geisenheim.
